มีความเป็นอิสระในการดำเนินนโยบายการเงิน… เราอยากเห็นนโยบายการเงินการคลังไปด้วยกัน ตอนนี้เงินเฟ้อติดลบ four เดือนแล้ว” เศรษฐา ให้สัมภาษณ์ผู้สื่อข่าว เมื่อวันที่ 7 ก.พ. จะพิจารณาปรับลดอัตราดอกเบี้ยช่วงเวลานี้ กว่าจะเห็นผลที่เกิดขึ้น คือ อีก 2-3 ไตรมาส ซึ่งคาดว่าจะเป็นช่วงที่รัฐบาลสามารถเบิกจ่ายงบประมาณรายจ่ายประจำปี 2567 ได้แล้ว ซึ่งจะยิ่งไปเพิ่มแรงกระตุ้น ทั้งการกระตุ้นทางการคลังจากนโยบายของภาครัฐ และการกระตุ้นทางการเงิน ซึ่งเป็นผลจากการลดดอกเบี้ยของ กนง. เครื่องมือของนโยบายการเงินปัจจุบัน คือ อัตราดอกเบี้ยนโยบาย (อัตราดอกเบี้ยธุรกรรมซื้อคืนพันธบัตรแบบทวิภาคีระยะ 1 วัน) ซึ่งกำหนดโดยคณะกรรมการนโยบายการเงิน หรือ กนง. รวมกัน four คน โดยแต่ละคนมีหนึ่งเสียงและผลการตัดสินใช้วิธีเสียงข้างมาก สำหรับกำหนดการประชุม กนง.
มีความสอดคล้องกับสถานการณ์ปัจจุบัน ประชาชนสามารถทำความเข้าใจและนำไปปฏิบัติได้อย่างถูกต้อง ไม่ก่อให้เกิดผลกระทบที่ไม่เป็นธรรม ไม่สร้างภาระทั้งต่อภาครัฐ ภาคธุรกิจ และภาคประชาชนเกินความจำเป็น ขณะที่ยังสามารถบรรลุวัตถุประสงค์ในการแก้ปัญหาหรือดำเนินการได้ตามภารกิจของ ธปท. อย่างไรก็ตาม กระทรวงการคลัง ที่กำหนดจะแถลงประมาณการเศรษฐกิจไทยปี 2566 และ 2567 ในวันที่ 24 ม.ค.2567 แต่ได้เลื่อนออกไปก่อนอย่างไม่มีกำหนด ก่อนที่จะกลับมานัดหมายสื่อมวลชนแถลงอีกครั้ง เวลา 09.30 น. จากผลของการเมืองที่มุ่งหักล้างกันที่ทําลายความน่าเชื่อถือและโอกาสทางเศรษฐกิจของประเทศ ทําให้ประเทศไทยไม่ก้าวหน้า ส่งผลต่อโอกาสและความเป็นอยู่ที่ควรดีขึ้นของคนทั้งประเทศ นี่คือความเห็นของผมที่ให้ไป.
